Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul

This iconic stall on Penang Road (Lebuh Penang) has been serving its legendary chendul (also spelled cendol) since the 1930s. Chendul is a shaved ice dessert with green rice flour jelly strips, red beans, and rich gula melaka (palm sugar) syrup over coconut milk. The Teochew Chendul stall is so famous it often has queues stretching down the street, and its version is considered the gold standard against which all other chendul in Malaysia is measured.
