Kimberly Street Char Kway Teow

The char kway teow stall on Kimberly Street (Lebuh Kimberley) is one of the most legendary street food spots in Penang. Run by a succession of family members over the decades, the stall serves what many consider the definitive version of char kway teow - flat rice noodles stir-fried over intense charcoal fire with prawns, cockles, bean sprouts, chives, egg, and lard. The queue is a permanent fixture; the plate is worth every minute of waiting.
