Find a doctor in Penang

Each accredited hospital publishes its own consultant directory, kept current by the hospital itself. Those are linked below, along with the national register you can use to check any doctor is registered before you book.

Consultant directories, straight from the hospital

These are the hospitals' own listings — the same source their International Patient Services teams work from, so a consultant who has moved on will not still be listed.

Check any doctor on the national register

The Malaysian Medical Council keeps the register of every doctor licensed to practise in Malaysia. Search the consultant's name there before you commit to treatment — it is free, public, and it is the authoritative answer rather than anyone's summary of it.

Search the MMC register

Before you book

Check the doctor is registered

Every doctor practising in Malaysia must appear on the Malaysian Medical Council register. Search the name before you pay a deposit — it takes about a minute and it is the single most useful check you can make.

Ask for a written quote

Consultation fees, procedure costs and hospital charges are quoted separately. Ask the International Patient Services desk for one written estimate covering all three, and confirm what happens if complications extend your stay.

Confirm the consultant is the one operating

The doctor you consult is not always the doctor who performs the procedure. Ask directly who will operate, and who covers your follow-up once you have flown home.

Bring your records, and get a second read

Send scans and test results ahead of your first appointment so the consultant can give a real opinion rather than a provisional one. For anything major, a second opinion from a different hospital is normal and expected.

Why we do not list individual doctors

We link to the hospitals' own directories instead of republishing consultant profiles. We hold no relationship with any clinician in Penang, consultation fees are not something we can quote reliably, and a doctor's registration, subspecialty and hospital can all change without notice. On a page people use to make medical decisions, pointing at the primary source is the honest thing to do.

Not sure which hospital fits?

Each hospital's International Patient Services team can match you with the right consultant based on your diagnosis and medical records — at no charge.
