The premium boutiques (Seven Terraces, RM 600+) compete with five-star chains but offer a fundamentally different experience: 18 suites versus 200 rooms, Peranakan antiques versus contemporary design.

Yes — that's the main advantage. Most boutique hotels in the heritage zone are within a 10-minute walk of Cheong Fatt Tze, Armenian Street, the Clan Jetties, and the major temples. The Pinang Peranakan Mansion, Fort Cornwallis, and Penang Hill funicular are reachable by Grab in under 20 minutes.
