NS Nasi Kandar

NS Nasi Kandar is a long-running Indian-Muslim nasi kandar shop on a busy stretch of Jalan Burma in George Town, open around the clock for roughly two decades. The draw is classic nasi kandar — steamed rice ladled with richly spiced curries and a mix of sides like fried chicken, fried fish, squid and egg, all bound together with a generous pour of mixed gravy (kuah). Its fried chicken in particular has a big following, often singled out as among the best in Penang. Freshly made roti canai rounds out the menu. Parking on Jalan Burma can be tight, so allow a little time.
