Maxim Dim Sum (美食之家) is a big, busy Cantonese dim sum restaurant in Taman Pekaka, Sungai Dua, near Universiti Sains Malaysia in Gelugor. It's a local weekend institution — expect a queue — serving a wide spread of classic dim sum, much of it still wheeled around on traditional pushcarts. Regulars come for steamed and fried staples rounded out with congee and other tea-house favourites, across morning and evening sittings.
