Lhong Tou Dim Sum is a popular Pulau Tikus spot on Jalan Pasar serving Cantonese dim sum made to order rather than sitting in steamers. The draw is freshness and a slightly more premium take on the classics — har gow, siew mai, custard buns and the like — which regulars say is worth paying a little more for. It opens early for breakfast and again in the evening, so it suits both a dim sum brunch and a late sitting. (Note: this is the Penang outlet, not the well-known vintage Lhong Tou cafe in Bangkok.)
