Kedai Kopi Sin Hwa (新華茶室) is a veteran kopitiam on Jalan Burma (Burma Road) in Pulau Tikus, near the Bangkok Lane junction and opposite the Pulau Tikus police station. Its best-known stall fries a well-regarded char koay teow — smoky koay teow with prawns, cockles, Chinese sausage and egg, with the option of extra squid or a duck egg. The shop has grown from a single shophouse into two lots over the years, so there's a decent spread of other hawker food, including a popular laksa stall serving both assam laksa and laksa lemak.
