Kapitan

Restoran Kapitan is a long-running Indian-Muslim restaurant on Lebuh Chulia, in the thick of George Town's heritage and backpacker quarter, and it barely closes — the kitchen runs around the clock. It's best known for claypot biryani (chicken, tandoori chicken or goat) and for tandoori chicken with freshly baked naan, served either at the lively street-level nasi kandar counter or in the quieter air-conditioned room upstairs. Portions are generous and prices stay reasonable, which makes it a reliable late-night stop as much as a sit-down meal.
