KANDY brings Sri Lankan cooking to George Town's Little India on Lebuh Penang, a cuisine still rare in Penang. The kitchen turns out authentic home-style dishes built on coconut-based curries and Sri Lankan spice blends — rice and curry, kottu, fried rice, and curries of mutton (elumas), chicken (kukulmas), prawn (isso) and crab (kakuluvo), plus devilled calamari, rolls and cutlets. The dining room is decorated with scenes of the Sri Lankan hill country and often has live music. Staff are happy to dial the spice up or down to taste.
