Jit Seng Hong Kong Roasted Duck Rice

Jit Seng is a roasted-meats stall inside the Star Hotel coffee shop on Lebuh Carnarvon, and one of George Town's go-to spots for Hong Kong-style roast duck. The duck comes with deep-red, crackly skin and juicy meat, served over rice with house-made sweet bean and chilli sauces. Chef-owner Mr Lam has been at it for over three decades, and also roasts excellent char siu (barbecue pork) and siew yoke (crispy pork belly). It's a lunchtime affair with short hours and a steady queue — get there early before the duck sells out.
