Ivy's Nyonya Cuisine is a much-loved George Town Peranakan restaurant run for years by a husband-and-wife team — Ivy in the kitchen, her husband Mr Tan front of house. The cooking is home-style and authentically Penang Nyonya, and notably pork-free, which makes it accessible to more diners. It holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand. Regulars come for the beef rendang, joo hoo char (a spicy stir-fry of finely shredded vegetables and cuttlefish), Kapitan chicken curry and king prawns in house chilli paste, available à la carte or as set menus.
