Mixed-use mall on Gurney Drive, built around the restored St Joseph’s Novitiate chapel. Its store directory covers fashion, beauty, homeware, a supermarket and a food court.

Central George Town mall next to Komtar. Served by many Rapid Penang routes, including the free CAT, so it is an easy stop from the heritage zone.

The 65-storey KOMTAR tower and its podium. The state and the Penang Development Corporation have been reviving its retail floors; most visitors come for The TOP at the summit and Tech Dome Penang on levels 3–5.

Open-air outlet mall on the mainland, opened in November 2016. Worth the trip only if outlet shopping is the point: allow half a day including the drive over the Second Penang Bridge (car toll RM 5.74).
