Kheng Pin Cafe (群賓茶餐室) is a traditional kopitiam at 80 Penang Road, on the corner of Sri Bahari Road in central George Town, still fitted out with old marble-top tables and wooden chairs. Its enduring draw is lor bak — a platter of deep-fried five-spice pork rolls, prawn fritters, fried beancurd and other morsels, eaten with the dark dipping gravy and chilli sauce — alongside other breakfast hawker fare. It trades mornings and lunchtimes only. Note that the famous Hainanese chicken rice stall that long operated here closed at this spot in September 2023, so come for the lor bak rather than the chicken rice.
